Phu Quoc Island has three distinct pricing seasons driven by weather patterns and tourist demand. Understanding these seasons helps you plan the best time to visit for your budget:

High Season (December — March) is the peak tourist period coinciding with the dry season. Weather is perfect — sunny skies, low humidity, calm seas ideal for snorkeling and diving. Christmas, New Year, and Vietnamese Tet (late January or early February) are the busiest weeks of the year. Accommodation across the island can fill up, so booking two to three weeks in advance is strongly recommended. Shoulder Season (April — June and October — November) offers the best value-to-weather ratio. April and May are still largely dry and sunny, just hotter (31-34 degrees). October and November see the rain tapering off as the island transitions back to dry season. Tourist numbers are moderate, meaning lower prices, no crowds at beaches, and easier restaurant reservations. This is our recommended period for budget-conscious travelers who want good weather without peak prices.

Low Season (July — September) is the rainy period with the lowest prices on the island. Rain typically comes in afternoon bursts lasting one to two hours — mornings are often sunny and pleasant. The island is lush and green, photographers love the dramatic cloud formations, and you will have beaches almost entirely to yourself. Payment Methods and Deposits

We keep payment flexible and convenient for international travelers. We accept cash in US Dollars or Vietnamese Dong, bank transfers to our Vietnamese bank account (Vietcombank), international transfers via Wise (TransferWise), and Visa or Mastercard credit and debit cards on-site. For long-term guests paying monthly, bank transfer is the most economical and convenient method — we send you our account details upon booking confirmation.

Deposit requirements depend on the season and booking type. For high season (December through March) bookings, we request a 50 percent deposit to secure your reservation — this is fully refundable if you cancel at least 48 hours before check-in. For shoulder and low season, no deposit is required for stays under two weeks. Long-term bookings require the first month's payment upon check-in. All payments are receipted, and we are transparent about every charge.

ATMs accepting international cards (Visa, Mastercard) are located within a five-minute walk of our homestay. Vietcombank and BIDV ATMs offer the best exchange rates and lowest withdrawal fees. The current exchange rate hovers around 25,000 VND per 1 USD. For the largest single-currency savings, pay for accommodation in USD or via bank transfer and use VND from ATMs for daily expenses like food, transport, and activities.

Booking and Cancellation Terms

We believe in fair and straightforward booking terms. Free cancellation is available up to 48 hours before your scheduled check-in — your deposit is refunded in full. Cancellations between 24 and 48 hours before check-in receive a 50 percent refund. No refund is given for cancellations less than 24 hours before check-in or for no-shows. For emergency situations such as flight cancellations or medical issues, we handle things on a case-by-case basis — we are understanding and flexible.

Long-term bookings (monthly stays) require one month written notice for early termination. Any unused prepaid rent for the remaining period is refunded minus the daily rate difference for days already stayed. Full cancellation and house rules are available on our policies page.
